NEW ZEALAND INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION CENTER (NZICC)

Project Location: Auckland

Architecture: Warren and Mahoney, Moller Architects and Woods Bagot

Landscape Design: Boffa Miskell

Biophilic Design: GreenAir

Plant Maintenance: GreenAir

Planter Supply: Modscene

Modscene supplied over 100 planters to the New Zealand International Convention Centre, a landmark project positioned to host the world in the heart of Auckland.

Designed by Warren and Mahoney in collaboration with Moller Architects and Woods Bagot, the NZICC brings together architecture, culture, and performance at an international scale. Landscape design by Boffa Miskell shapes the public realm, connecting the building seamlessly into the city fabric and elevating the surrounding streetscape.

Within this context, biophilic design by GreenAir introduces natural elements into the built environment, enhancing the experience of the space while supporting wellbeing. Ongoing plant maintenance by GreenAir ensures the integrity of this living layer over time, allowing the planting design to mature alongside the architecture.

Our role was to supply planters at scale that could integrate effortlessly into a highly considered, globally benchmarked environment. Each piece was manufactured in New Zealand, delivering durability, consistency, and efficiency across installation and long-term use.

Sustainability sits behind the form. The material is fully recyclable, produced with minimal waste, and designed for longevity in high-use commercial settings. For a project of this scale, that intent matters.

This project reflects Modscene’s ability to operate within complex, internationally recognised design teams, supplying at scale while meeting the expectations of the global architectural and construction community.
